What we keep, and what we do not.
You are a lawyer looking at the market while employed somewhere. The entire value of this depends on that being safe, so the promises below are about mechanisms, not intentions.
Your current employer is never contacted
Not to verify anything, not for a reference, not at any point. Nobody at your firm learns you were here.
The file is not kept. What it says is.
The document you upload is read in memory and discarded; we never hold the file itself. What we keep is the text extracted from it, a checksum, and the report built on top of it.
We keep that text. An earlier version of this page said it was deleted once your report was written. That was not true of the software, and it is not what we intend, so the claim is gone rather than dressed up.
We are a recruiting firm, and we keep what you send
Voll Lateral Ledger is run by Voll Recruiting. Your resume text, the details we read out of it and your report are added to our recruiting records, and a recruiter here may contact you about a role we think fits you. That is the purpose we collect this for, and we would rather state it plainly on the way in than bury it.
What that does not mean: no firm is contacted about you, no submission is made, and your resume is not sent anywhere, unless you explicitly ask us to represent you. Being in our records and being on the market are different things, and only you move you between them.
Asking us to delete it
Write to the address below and we will delete your resume text, your report and your record, and confirm when it is done. You do not have to give a reason, and asking costs you nothing else.
What your permalink means
Your report has a long random link so you can come back to it without a password. That link is the access: anybody holding it can read the report. It is why the page carries no name, no email and no employer, only market numbers. Share it if you want to, and treat it as public if you do.
We ask for your email so we can send you the report and, only if you switch it on, tell you when your market moves. Every message carries a one-click unsubscribe and honours it immediately. We do not sell, rent, or share the address.

If you are in California, the information you give us is collected for the purpose of assessing the legal employment market and, if you ask, for considering you for roles.
