Voll Recruiting

For law firms

A legal search firm that starts from the market, not the inbox.

Legal recruiter, attorney headhunter, legal staffing agency: whatever you call it, the job is the same. Find the attorneys who are not reading your posting, approach them confidentially, and bring you the ones who fit. Contingency or retained, your choice. Every placement guaranteed.

How a search works

Three steps, one point of contact

We sell coverage, not effort: a live map of your talent market, worked by recruiters who practiced law before they recruited for it.

1

A 15-minute brief

A 15-minute call. A job description helps but is optional; we take the brief verbally and confirm it back to you in writing.

2

A research pass, not a rolodex

We track 400,000+ attorney profiles across 5,000+ firms and map who is movable in your practice area and market before anyone is approached. Every candidate we present has authorized an approach to your firm.

3

Vetted candidates within a week

You see the first genuinely interested, pre-screened attorneys within a week of the brief. We run scheduling, feedback and the offer negotiation, so hard conversations never land between you and your future hire.

What we fill

Associates, partners, in-house

Different seats, different searches. The research is the same.

Lateral associates and counsel

Class-year and practice-specific searches, run against a live read of which groups are building and which attorneys are quietly open. Most run on contingency.

Partners and groups

Book-verified partner and group moves, confidential on both sides. Often retained; always discreet, because in most markets your competitor shares your clients.

In-house and boutique

Legal departments and boutiques that cannot compete on brand alone. We sell the seat on the work, the trajectory and the people, and screen for the fit that predicts retention.

FAQ

Questions law firms ask us

How does an attorney search with Voll work?+

It starts with a 15-minute call to take the brief: the seat, the practice, the class years or book you need, and what has not worked so far. We then run a research pass over the local market, which we track firm by firm, and you see the first vetted, genuinely interested candidates within a week. From there we handle scheduling, feedback and the offer negotiation so nothing awkward lands between you and your future hire.

Do you work on contingency or retained?+

Both, and you choose. Most associate and counsel searches run on contingency: you pay nothing unless you hire our candidate. Partner, group and confidential searches are often retained. A retained search is exclusive to us; a contingency search is not, so you can run other recruiters alongside us.

What does it cost to use a legal recruiter?+

On contingency, nothing until you hire our candidate. We work on standard contingency terms, agreed in writing before you see anyone's identifying details. Many firms have their own fee agreement, and we sign yours rather than asking you to sign ours.

Is there a guarantee if the hire does not work out?+

Yes. Every placement carries a guarantee. The specifics are set in the fee agreement, and if your firm has its own agreement the guarantee follows its terms.

What do you need from us to start?+

A 15-minute call. A job description helps but is optional; we take the brief verbally, confirm it back to you in writing, and start the research pass the same day.
